General Questions:
JOYCHEFS is a 24/7 on demand food marketplace for great cooks to share their culinary masterpieces with others and make connections to people who take pleasure in having homemade food. The primary value addition for chefs is opportunity to get appreciated for their culinary skills, generate a following and get paid for the same being at home and working at their absolute convenience. For customers, we offer the chance to have food of their choice prepared by home chefs in their neighborhood.

At JOYCHEFS we have a great passion for food, and see food as a great way to connect communities. At some point all of us have asked the question "what are we eating today?" and many of us are strapped for time. We wanted to create a convenient way to connect people who have a need and/or a passion for food. We also wanted to give people more food options and healthier choices at affordable prices. Lastly we wanted to empower sellers to make money on their own timeline using their existing assets, applying their culinary creativity, giving them a free way to start up or grow their business. We have two sections which we cater at present.

1. Order personalized food: The customer can order food as per their wish, mentioning their dish name and region it's made for e.g. chicken biryani lucknowi style or dal tadka Punjabi style. They can add multiple number of dishes. Food is prepared as per the request and style of the customer by the chef who accepts the order in real time over a chat.

2. Live dishes: Dishes/meals being prepared at that point of time and ready to be served to customer. The taste is as per the chef's culinary skills.
Individuals from their their home kitchen.
Professional chefs with their own kitchen.
Individual Caterers with a personal kitchen.
We don't entertain commercial kitchens.

Minimum requisites to join as a Joychef are:-
Person above 18 years can be a JOYCHEF
A smart phone with a data connection or WiFi connection.
A active savings bank account where we can transfer your hard earned money.
A fssai registration from the food safety department .

JOYCHEFS serves only for online chefs and online customers. at present we are not available for offline transactions.

Yes. JOYCHEFS uses technology to connect sellers and buyers of food in a convenient, intuitive, and cashless way. We require that all sellers operate and sell only in full compliance with all laws of the location where they operate.
For Customers :we are at present available on google playstore for Android mobile users. We would be shortly coming up on appstore for iOS users.
For Chefs : Firstly you need to register on Joychefs through our registration process Click here to register. Then we would provide you with the credentials and link for downloading the app on your registered email id and mobile number once our evaluation process is complete.
Customer's Questions
You can join in our private community marketplace for free by completing the registration process in the app and agreeing to our Terms & Conditions. (Your participation can be denied at any time by us with/without prior intimation if found deviated from the code of conduct)
You have the option to pick up your food at the address communicated by the seller and some sellers choose to provide delivery. The App will show you whether delivery is available or not for each seller.
Our food is fresh and made to order by the chef straight to you. The time taken depends upon the order placed by you and the discussion you have agreed on the chat with the chef.
JOYCHEFS is designed to be a open food sharing marketplace. We have a minimal application process to help Chefs get started on the platform and rely on a robust in-app review system to weed out poor performers.
Customers cannot cancel their order once confirmed as Chefs have prepared the food exclusively for the customer upon the request and cannot be served/sold to anyone else.
If a Cook cancels a confirmed booking made via the Site, Services, and App, JOYCHEFS will refund the total fees for such booking to the applicable customer within a commercially reasonable time of the cancellation.

We request you to write a review to help other members in the community make informed decisions. If a customer is completely unsatisfied, we shall remove the chef from the platform based on the reviews of the customers.
Customers should be as specific as possible when contacting us. please do mail us your concern at support@joychefs.com (All the communication is monitored by the admin)
We use a reputed third-party payment processor that specializes in providing services for marketplaces such as JOYCHEFS. They maintain bank-level security of all data and comply with all applicable state and federal data protection and privacy laws.
JOYCHEFS doesn't store any credit & debit card data. Customer's credit & debit card details are encrypted and sent to our payment processor. We receive a unique payment token in return that can only be used by JOYCHEFS. Our payment processor maintains bank-level security of all data and complies with all applicable state and federal data protection and privacy laws.
Billing Pattern :

Dish cost + Taxes as applicable + Delivery cost + platform fee

Dish cost : In personalized food order decided by the chef which is mutually agreed over the chat between the customer and the chef,whereas in the live dishes the chef is given the liberty to fix the prices on their wish-be reasonable in fixing the prices.

Taxes : As applicable --predefined by the platform

Delivery Cost : predefined by the platform

Platform fee:

Yes, You can change your profile information by going into your profile settings.
Once the order is finalized a delivery code is generated automatically by the admin against your order and will the sent as an SMS and email notification which has to be shared with the chef on completion of the order either by pickup or delivery.
Currently we do not have search for home chef option by name ,you can place a personalized order or search by cuisine,dish on live dishes,we will direct you to the best chefs in your neighbourhood.
Yes,you can on live dishes ,but on personalized order ,you can order multiple dishes of the same cuisine from a single chef,every cuisine you choose has to be placed individually.However you need to coordinate with multiple home chefs for delivery or pickup.
Chef's Questions
We have a simple application process through the app and the website to help you get started. Joychefs does not charge for enrollment of Chef. Its is absolutely free. Please click here to learn more.
The App is designed to help the chef to work at their convenience. We have a on/off button on the app which will give you a choice for a pause. You will not receive orders while you are off line. If you have any orders pending to be delivered you cannot be offline. Kindly take the orders with at most care and planning.
Food packaging could vary significantly depending on the dish you're sharing. In general, food containers that are safe and are environmentally friendly lead to good reviews by customers. At present we are not supplying you any packing materials.
JOYCHEFS doesn't collect any applicable sales tax or other taxes on your behalf. You are responsible for paying any relevant sales taxes or income taxes from your proceeds. You will receive a monthly/annual sales report from our payment processor to help you determine if you owe any taxes. You should contact a tax professional to help determine your tax liability.
Sure, you can also choose your own provider. JOYCHEFS allows Chefs to charge a separate delivery fee for this reason. You can choose to give someone else the fee in return for making deliveries. This may greatly expand the demand for your dishes from our members if you would like to offer a large delivery area. Just remember that any delivery problems may lead to bad reviews for you.
Yes. Frequent Refund requests, abuse reports, or bad reviews could lead to your removal from the platform with or without notice from Joychefs.
We distribute full payment(dish amount+deliverycharges+taxes if any) of whatever you charge, less credit or debit card fees, payment gateway charges, and any refunds, within 7 business days. We have a facility to make a direct payment to your bank account as provided by you .
We usually process payments transaction plus two days once you close the order by giving details and code provided by the customer at the time of delivery.
We take complaints from both customers and Chefs that cannot be resolved independently very seriously. We will contact both parties to try to ascertain the facts and circumstances.
Yes, you can change or cancel dishes by tapping the specific dish on the Activity tab of the app's Chef area. Please keep in mind that significant changes to dishes, especially when already reserved, may lead to complaints, bad reviews, or refund requests. Cancellations will lead to full refunds.
In the case of a refund, you don't get paid for the dish that was refunded,
Customers pay 100% in advance to the platform which will be passed to chef on closure of the order.
We cannot modify or remove reviews unless they're profane or abusive. Otherwise, we would jeopardize the integrity of the review system. We do allow you to respond to each review. Your response will appear on the review page where others can see the review in question.

No. There is no need to cook from a commercial kitchen, you can do it from your kitchen at home.
You should follow all relevant food safety standards and recommendations when preparing your dishes. You can find such information from FSSAI www.fssai.gov.in and through your local public health department. We request you to register yourself at the fssai department Failure to register at fssai and consequences we are not responsible for any liabilities arising from the department.
Yes, JOYCHEFS treats all people who want to cook and share their food equally on the platform. Both professional and home chefs can post dishes as long as they don't exceed the app's limit on LIVE DISHES and personalized food orders.. (So choose your best dishes and share!)
Yes, caterers with their personal kitchens can use JOYCHEFS to continue to share their best dishes too.
You are limited to five active 'pre-order' dishes and twelve 'live' dishes at any one time on the platform. This helps Chefs share only their best dishes and helps our members discover great dishes by reducing the number of dishes from each Chef on the platform. An active dish is defined as an available dish with a sharing period that ends in the future. Please remember that cancelled dishes continue to be considered active until the scheduled sharing period ends
Dishes that are posted as 'Live' can have an end date of up to 1 days into the future. You can also post a dish to be shared immediately. 'Pre-orders' can be remain posted for a period of 1 week.
Sorry we don't have that provison as we serve only online customers through online chefs. We are working towards providing certain facilities for offline chefs in the near future.

Platform fee: flat 10% of the dish cost.

At the time of delivery/pickup the chefs has to request for the code, which has to be entered into the delivery system in the app and then the order would be closed and which will lead to payment process. Non closure of the order by the chef will lead to non-disbursement of payment.
